Formula & How It Works

sin(30) [DEG] = 0.5 · 2^10 = 1024 · log(1000) = 3

Step-by-Step Example

Three quick checks you can run on the keypad.

1.Trigonometry
sin(30) with the DEG switch on
2.Powers
2^10
3.Logarithm
log(1000), the base-10 log

sin(30) = 0.5, 2^10 = 1024, and log(1000) = 3.

Frequently asked questions

Does this scientific calculator support radians and degrees?

Yes. The DEG/RAD switch decides how trigonometry is interpreted: in DEG mode sin(30) is 0.5, and in RAD mode the same input is read as radians, which gives −0.988. Keep it on DEG for school, surveying and navigation work, and on RAD for calculus and physics.

How do I calculate powers and square roots on this calculator?

Use ^ for powers — 2^10 evaluates to 1024 — and the √ key for square roots, where √9 gives 3. Because it evaluates a whole expression rather than a running total, it respects operator precedence, so 2 + 3 × 4 is 14, and parentheses let you group terms when you need to override that order.

Can I use standard keyboard shortcuts for input?

Yes. Numbers, + − × ÷, parentheses, ^ and Enter all work from the keyboard, with Backspace for delete and Escape to clear the current expression. That makes it usable from a numeric keypad or a laptop keyboard without reaching for the mouse.
